For this reason, a stringent safety policy has been put into place to promote a culture of safety that will place it among the best companies worldwide in this field.
For visitors
Safety comes first in all areas of our company. A crisis management system is in place to proactively reinforce our ability to respond to emergencies, and we behave in a way, which places a top priority on lives of all those enter our premises, including employees, subcontractors, customers and suppliers. Thank you for your understanding of our safety policy and your cooperation in following our safety measures when you visit our plants, terminals and offices.
The "Health & Safety Month": events for everybody
One of Lafarge Aso Cement's efforts to raise strong awareness among its employees and contractors is holding an annual "Health & Safety Month" in June for its employees and subcontractors but also their families and the local communities living near our installations. This is an opportunity for us to establish a program of events promoting health and safety: conferences, games during open days on sites, campaigns regarding safety standards and health policy, etc.
During the whole month of June, various activities are organized to focus on promoting health & safety. Some of the activities held were on Industrial Health & Safety, Road and Transportation Safety, Safety at Home and General Health & Safety.
Proud member of H&S Excellence Club
Lafarge Aso Cement has been a member of the Lafarge Group "Health & Safety Excellence Club" since 2009, in recognition of its outstanding safety record.
Health & Safety Excellence Club
Lafarge Group set up the "Health & Safety Excellence Club" to reward performance at its best business units, create internal momentum and encourage business units to adopt best practices already developed elsewhere in the Group, as part of the Group's overall focus on achieving excellence in health and safety for employees and subcontractors. Those 32 business units, which have achieved a high level of performance in terms of health and safety are eligible to join the club. These units are awarded a label enabling them to promote their results in terms of health and safety, comprising a wide variety of communications materials.
For Lafarge, the health and safety of its employees and its subcontractors is an absolute priority. Already one of the safest companies in its sector, Lafarge has nonetheless set itself the objective of becoming one of the world's leading industrial groups in terms of health and safety. To achieve this, the Group has drawn up an ambitious roadmap, covering all aspects of performance in terms of health and safety.
